How Tizen Finds the Very Bests Apps, Trevor Cornwell

Tizen is addressing the need for quality by using a leading edge appscore to identify the best apps to make Tizen a success.  Using an advanced machine learning algorithm, apps created on cross platform tools like Marmalade are identified early and then given the resources (technical and financial) to port the app to Tizen.  It is the first time a true meritocracy has been developed for an app ecosystem.

"Tizen is an open source, standards-based software platform" says tizen.org, but there haven't been a lot of details up until recently. It's time now, with the Tizen 3.0 development starting, for the project to welcoming developers, artists, translators and other types of contributors to participate and improve Tizen, through a process modelled on existing Open Source projects and taking into account the needs of the companies making a business around it. This session is meant to present and explain the Tizen development and governance model, starting with how an individual contributor can interact with existing developers, through the patch submission process all the way to how the Technical Steering Group and its working groups affect the project. It will also try to explain why this model was chosen and how it is helps the project achieve its goals.

Quick Tizen Infrastructure Setup for Small Team, JF Ding
For Tizen platform development, every change of the packages will go through gerrit, OBS, Jenkins jobs, and finally will be integrated into the testing images. So it need a set of backend services and scripts to enable the full workflow automatically. For small team or company, it's a burden to setup them. So in this presention the author, as the team manager in response for all the Tizen platform development tools, will give a concise introduction to the Tizen workflow and the required services and tools. Most importantly, he will show how to setup all the services in a quick and straight way, to enable the Tizen platform development in a quite short time.

Besides the backend services solution, the new developers can also use the client side command line tools
GBS and MIC only, to build out all packages and generate images which will integrated the local changes fo

Native application executables can be treated as data by utilizing VIVID Runtime.

By encrypting data with our ARG, even if the data is   extracted, it will not execute on an unauthorized terminal.

For this reason, native applications can be distributed in an encrypted format with our DRM processing.

Acrodea intends to monetize this business at the electronic  delivery platform for DRM-protected native applications.

Publishing to Tizen using the Automated Conversion/Repackaging of Existing Android Apps,

This presentation provides the introduction to publish the existing android apps to Tizen appstore using the automated conversion/repackaging technology and the Android player called as PAG(POLARIS App Generator). The app developers just do as they did with Android SDK, and they just export their Android app to Tizen using this automated conversion tool or service, PAG(POLARIS App Generator.

In beginning stage of new platform, there are not enough devices for making profit. So, it's not easy to invest to make a new version of applications for new platform. With this conversion tool, the app developer can publish their app at low cost, because they can use almost of the Android apps they already developed. In the point of view of the developers, they can make one source, and they use (publish) it for multiple platforms.
